My Five Favorite Ikea Products In Our Home

I swear every single month I think the newest topic is the best yet, but this seriously might be the one!

I’m back with another edition of My Five Favorites, the monthly series I host along with three of my dearest blogging friends, Pam of Simple Details, Kris of Driven By Decor and Jennifer of Dimples & Tangles.

We are SO happy to have the lovely Rhoda of Southern Hospitality guest hosting with us today!! Rhoda blogs about fashion, decor and home improvements and it was one of her tutorials that inspired me to stain my stairs dark and install my own runner. Aren’t these stairs from Rhoda’s current house just gorgeous??

I’m so glad Rhoda is joining us for today’s subject because she has some really good projects involving Ikea to share with you, so make sure you hop over and pay her a visit!

At first I wasn’t sure I’d have enough Ikea things in my home to share with you, and then I took a look around and realized I have integrated some affordable Ikea things in almost every room of my house!

Without further ado…..

ARSTID WALL LIGHTS

The $295 wall sconces I loved were not in my budget, so I hacked the Ikea Arstids for our master bedroom for $272 less!

Bonus – since my first Ikea Arstid hack, a bronze version has come out.

I used the same Arstid lights, along with a metal Ikea planter, to make lights for over my daughter’s bed.

HYLLIS SHELVES

The Hyllis utility shelves are a great base to work off of, so affordable at $14.99. I used 2 Hyllis units to create rustic-industrial display and book shelves in my teenage son’s room.

BILLY BOOKCASES

3 Billys mixed in with a custom-sized bookcase create an entire wall of built-ins for our living room. With some trim and paint, you’d never know their humble beginnings!

VITTSJO LAPTOP DESK

This unassuming, slim desk makes the perfect vanity table in our master bedroom.

CURTAINS

I love the Aina linen curtains so much I wrote an entire post about how they compare to more expensive ready made linen curtains.

I have these in my living room, family room, and on the kitchen slider and have used them in several client projects because they are super long so the length is customizable, and they are affordable if you have a lot of windows to dress.

Hannah’s room has the heavier Merete curtains. Check out my tricks for making these look a little more custom and see more of Hannah’s room here.

Honorable mention to my discontinued Henriksdal armchairs which have been moved around my house more than anything else!! (and that green pillow is Ikea’s linen-like Vigdis which I also have in blue!)

The Henriksdal side chairs must be one of Ikea’s most popular products, so versatile for desk or dining!

I know my stylish friends have incorporated Ikea into their house in some beautiful ways.

Let’s go visit them and see!
