I am beyond thrilled today to be featured over at Savvy Southern Style, sharing my absolute favorite room in my home! Yes, you read that right—THAT Savvy Southern Style, the beautifully curated blog by the incredibly talented Kim Nichols.

If you’re a fan of timeless interiors, warm and inviting spaces, and charming French-inspired home decor, then you’re probably already familiar with Kim’s work. Her blog has long been a favorite of mine, and for good reason. She has such an incredible way of blending classic elegance with lived-in comfort, creating rooms that feel both stylish and welcoming.

Her home is nothing short of breathtaking, with its stunning mix of French country elegance, vintage charm, and sophisticated Southern style. Kim’s impeccable eye for design, along with her remarkable talent for painting and refinishing furniture, makes her home an endless source of inspiration. In fact, her gorgeous dining room is gracing the cover of French Country Style this month! If you haven’t seen it yet, it’s an absolute must-see!

A Special Feature on My Favorite Room

I can hardly contain my excitement as I share a sneak peek of my favorite room in our home over on Savvy Southern Style. It’s a space that holds so much meaning for me, even though—if I’m being completely honest—it’s the room that’s the furthest from being finished!

That might sound a little unusual, but hear me out! Sometimes, a room doesn’t have to be “done” to be your favorite. It doesn’t need to have every perfect finishing touch in place or every decorative detail finalized. What makes a room truly special is the way it makes you feel—and for me, this space is full of joy, comfort, and inspiration.

I think we often get caught up in the idea that our homes should always be Instagram-ready, that every room should look like it’s straight out of a magazine spread. But the truth is, homes are meant to be lived in. They are meant to evolve over time. And there is something truly beautiful about watching a space come together gradually, layer by layer.

That’s exactly why I adore this room. Even in its unfinished state, it’s already a reflection of my personal style, my love for vintage elements, and my passion for creating a home that tells a story. Every detail, from the carefully chosen furniture to the soft textures and warm colors, is a piece of the puzzle that makes this space uniquely mine.

Being featured in Kim’s My Favorite Room Series is such an honor. Over the years, she has showcased so many beautiful homes and talented bloggers, and I’m incredibly grateful to be included in this wonderful collection of inspiring spaces.

The Magic of Kim’s Home and Design Touch

If you’ve followed Savvy Southern Style for any length of time, then you already know how incredibly talented Kim is when it comes to decorating and transforming furniture. Her ability to breathe new life into vintage pieces is truly remarkable.

One of my absolute favorite projects she’s shared is her makeover of a chest using AS Aubusson Blue chalk paint. The way she effortlessly revives old furniture with rich, character-filled colors and perfectly distressed finishes is nothing short of inspiring. If you love DIY transformations and want to see what a little paint and creativity can do, her blog is full of brilliant ideas that will make you want to grab a paintbrush and start your own project!

It’s that same attention to detail and love for classic, elegant design that makes Kim’s home such a dream to look at. Whether she’s updating a space with new decor, incorporating unique vintage finds, or layering in gorgeous French country accents, every room she shares feels warm, inviting, and oh-so-beautiful.

Her approach to decorating is one that I truly admire—she doesn’t just decorate for trends, she decorates in a way that feels authentic and timeless. That’s exactly the kind of home I aspire to create for myself.

A Home That Feels Like “You”

For me, creating a home isn’t about following the latest trends or making everything picture-perfect. Instead, it’s about curating spaces that feel personal and lived-in, places that reflect the people who call them home.

That’s exactly what I strive for in my own decorating journey. My favorite room, while still a work in progress, is a space where I can relax, unwind, and truly feel at home. It’s where I experiment with different textures and colors, where I dream up future projects, and where I let my creativity flow freely.

It’s also the room where I spend so much of my time. Whether I’m curled up with a book, enjoying my morning coffee, or gathering with family and friends, this space is full of simple, everyday moments that bring joy. That’s what makes it my favorite.

We all have those rooms in our homes—the ones that just feel right, no matter how “finished” they are. Maybe it’s your cozy living room with the perfect reading chair. Maybe it’s your kitchen, where family meals bring everyone together. Or maybe it’s a quiet little nook where you can escape for a few minutes of peace. That’s the magic of home it’s not about perfection, it’s about feeling at ease in your space.
