There’s something truly special about Best Of The Nest—it’s more than just a place to showcase your hard work. Celebrating a New Year of Creativity
To kick off the first Best Of The Nest of the year, my wonderful co-hosts Kris, Pam, Jennifer, and I—were thrilled to invite the incredibly talented Becky from This Is Happiness as our guest host. It’s always such a joy to have a fresh perspective in the mix, and Becky’s love for beautifully designed, thoughtful interiors made her the perfect addition to our team for this round.
The response to this month’s link party was incredible! We were absolutely floored by the range of projects submitted. From jaw-dropping furniture makeovers to clever DIY solutions, every entry brought something unique to the table. It was truly difficult to narrow down our favorites, but we’re excited to highlight a few standouts that really caught our attention.

With so many inspiring submissions, choosing favorites is never easy! But here are some projects that we just couldn’t resist sharing:
- Yami from The Latina Next Door wowed us with an incredible dining chair makeover. She took an outdated but well-built set of chairs and transformed them into something truly stunning. If you know me, you know I have a soft spot for cane-backed chairs, so naturally, I was head over heels for this project. The before-and-after photos speak for themselves—it’s the perfect example of how a little vision and effort can completely revamp a space!
- Cyndy at The Creativity Exchange crafted an absolutely breathtaking built-in bar cabinet for her dining room. Not only does this piece add an elegant and functional touch to the space, but it also proves that you don’t need a large footprint to create something that looks custom and high-end. The sleek design and smart storage solutions make it a dream addition to any home.
- Jenny from Refresh Living tackled both beauty and function with her birch log fireplace screen. Not only is it a stylish decor piece, but it also serves a purpose helping keep cold, drafty air from sneaking into her home. It’s the perfect blend of rustic charm and practicality! If you love a good mix of aesthetic appeal and functionality, this project is for you.
- Summer from Simple Stylings introduced us to her latest decor obsession an oversized demijohn bottle. But the best part? The transformation from its humble beginnings to its final, polished state! We love a great upcycling project, and Summer’s creative approach to turning an ordinary find into a standout decorative piece is nothing short of inspiring.
- Kim from Tidbits & Twine treated us to a guest bathroom makeover that is truly magazine-worthy. Every element, from the carefully chosen color palette to the perfectly curated accessories, exudes elegance and sophistication. Whether you’re planning a full bathroom renovation or simply looking for small ways to refresh your space, Kim’s project is overflowing with inspiration.

One of the most exciting parts of hosting Best Of The Nest is getting to scroll through all of the submissions and seeing the different ways creativity shines. I’m still working my way through every single link-up because, honestly, I don’t want to miss a single one! Each project has a story, and seeing how different people bring their visions to life is something that never gets old.
Kris, Jennifer, Pam, and I all feel the same way—this community is full of amazingly talented and resourceful individuals, and it’s such a joy to celebrate that each month. Whether it’s a big reveal of a newly renovated space or a simple yet impactful DIY, each project is an opportunity to learn, be inspired, and appreciate the incredible creativity that surrounds us.
