I’m so excited to be teaming up with my Best Of The Nest peeps,
Kris (Driven By Decor), Pam (Simple Details) and Jennifer (Dimples & Tangles)
for a new monthly series,
MY FIVE FAVORITES!!
We thought it would be fun to shake things up a bit and share 5 different favorites every month, and then head over to Instagram to see what your favorites are!
On the first Tuesday of the month we’ll share a new theme along with a guest host.
For our first edition of My Five Favorites
I’m so excited to have the ever fabulous Cassie of Primitive & Proper joining us!
This month the theme is one that is near and dear to my heart…….
My love of changing up a room with a can of paint goes back decades and is really what brought me to design consulting with clients. I started doing paint color consultations and one thing led to another over the years. I love all the nuances of color, undertones, shades….and it’s always exciting to find one that works in a lot of different scenarios.
How to narrow down the list to only five is the big question!!
Here are a few of my go-to colors.
(as always thank you for pinning from the original links)
1|| WHITE DOVE OC-17
(Benjamin Moore)
One of my all time favorite whites. Creamy but without yellow undertones, White Dove plays so well with both off white appliances (raise your hand if you’re in my club! Oh hi!!) and with true white.
The kitchen cabinets and all the interior trim in my house are painted White Dove.
2|| EDGECOMB GRAY HC-173
(Benjamin Moore)
{Kelie Grosso | House Beautiful}
A very light greige. Some find it has purplish undertones but I don’t get that at all in my house.
I used Edgecomb Gray in our basement and loved it so much I repainted my dining room with this color. In my bright dining room it’s a “barely there” easy on the eyes color, so adaptable to the seasons and other colors.

3|| CILANTRO 6453
(Sherwin Williams)
I used this green for my garage stairs, the floor of the mudroom and the door. It’s such a happy color that would look gorgeous on a piece of furniture
(this piece by Kate at Centsational Girl is not Cilantro but is in the same family.)
4|| DARK HARBOR CSP-720
(Benjamin Moore)
I am desperate to talk a client or family member into using this color because I’ve run out of rooms in my own house. I saw this in a powder room once and fell in love. Isn’t it gorgeous, that depth of tealy blue color? I would love to see this on both the walls and trim of a library, or an entry table for a little punch in a neutral space.
4|| TRICORN BLACK 6258
(Sherwin Williams)
I chose this black for my son’s work-in-progress bedroom because it is really a straight up black without any undertones. It’s gorgeous in gloss on that door above, and I also love it in matte finish on Peter’s walls! This is a great color for walls, interior or exterior doors, shutters, furniture.
Those are (five of) my favorites, now it’s your turn!!
