This week the Fall Into The Holidays series was all about living and family rooms, so today I bring you a cream and teal living room design with lots of saves and splurges that might strike your fancy for your own home before the holidays arrive!

Teal, cream and white living room design.

Rug |  Woven Bar Cart | Coffee Table | Mirrored Tray | Sofa | Velvet Curtains | Arise by Kelly Johnston | Blue and Cream Ikat Pillow | Teal Blue Linen Pillow | Cream Pillow | Capiz Pendant | Brass Floor Lamp | Faux Fur Throw Blanket

THE PAINT   Benjamin Moore’s Cloud White is an easy-on-the-eyes soft white. See this color in action in Kris’ gorgeous One Room Challenge family room reveal last fall.

SAVE  Rugs are on sale everywhere right now, it’s a great time to purchase if you’re in the market (I always wait for a sale on the big ticket items, how about you?)  West Elm has several modern beautiful wool rugs – I love the “lagoon” colorway of this one (fittingly named the Shine Rug)

SLURGE  Curtains can be a bit of an investment but it’s amazing the difference hanging them makes to a room. The velvet ones featured are nice quality but on the pricey side; check out this affordable alternative.

SAVE  This capiz shell lotus pendant light is on sale and would be an unexpected and beautiful addition to a living room, perhaps over a cocktail table.

DIY  The mirrored tray on the board would be great for coralling liquor bottles on a bar cart, or you could make your own mirrored tray with an inexpensive acrylic tray as the base (mine was found on the Homegoods clearance rack for $5!)

DESIGNER RECOMMENDED  Pam is amazing at finding Ikea items that mimic much more expensive pieces from high end rooms. Check out her Fall Into The Holidays post to see the brass floor lamp on today’s design board in Pam’s collected and interesting living room.

THE ART  When I saw the West Elm rug on sale I immediately thought of this beauty that has always reminded me of canoeing on Lake Winnipesaukee at sunset.

THE TEXTILES This pretty pillow cover is from my newest Etsy discovery Stitch and Brushowner Mary Wassil is also a talented artist.  Check out her beautiful oil paintings here! (Two things I wish I could do – sew and paint!)

Faux fur throws are everywhere right now, and are such a great way to cozy up a room for the winter.
