Happy Friday lovelies!!

On Monday I shared about how I’m finally finishing up my 16 year daughter’s room with a new duvet and shams from Crane & Canopy. We’re still waiting on a pretty lumbar pillow to arrive and then the room will be 100% DONE. After 2+ years. 🙂 We move slowly around here!

Affliliate links are included in this post for your convenience.

Hannah loves her brother’s black walls (from this One Room Challenge) and has tried to talk me into painting her room black too, but seriously – two black bedrooms?? However, I DO think a dark color would look so beautiful with her pink closet, and some girly, bright and colorful elements!! I thought it would be fun to show you the basics of Hannah’s room with a completely different wall color than she currently has.

One of my favorite dark and moody colors is the charcoal grey in our basement (my friend Kris at Driven By Decor also has this color in her office). This is such a gorgeous, rich background color to contrast brights and whites!

This is how I imagine it in a fun and happy teen girl’s room.

charcoal + hot pink + a bit of girly glam

SAVE on the best deal going on upholstered headboards! Also, PBTeen is currently offering 25% off one item until 3/26 so you could score this pretty chandelier (and replace your ceiling light if you have one).

DIY fun lighting if this crystal chandelier is not in the teen room budget! See DIY lighting ideas for a teen room here.

SLURGE on the duvet and shams, which are actually pretty affordable for the quality, and no doubt you will have them for years on end (my own white duvet is at least a dozen years old and has lived through several room makeovers!)

HONORABLE MENTIONS……the star of the show today is definitely this watercolor floral by MaiAutumn on Etsy. Shop owner Christine Lindstrom has many beautiful watercolor prints of florals, birds and landscapes, and makes a few of them into pillows. See all of her artwork here.

I also love this mirror that opens up so photos can be slipped inside!

So what do you think? Would you use a dark charcoal like Nightfall in a teen’s room?
