Soup’s On! | My All Time Favorites

There’s something undeniably magical about a steaming bowl of soup on a cold winter’s day. This time of year, I find myself making a fresh pot of soup at least once a week. It’s comforting, satisfying, and oh-so-simple to prepare. There’s no denying that homemade soup surpasses any store-bought canned version in both flavor and quality. Even if you use a shortcut like store-bought chicken stock or broth, you can whip up a hearty, delicious soup in no time.

Here are a few of my all-time favorite soups that I love to make over and over again:

Minestrone Soup – A hearty and nutritious classic, courtesy of yours truly.

Butternut Squash and Apple Soup – Smooth, slightly sweet, and utterly comforting, also my own recipe.

Hearty Tomato-Vegetable Soup – Packed with veggies and bursting with flavor, straight from my kitchen.

Spicy Tomato Soup With Blue Cheese – Adapted from Life In Grace, this soup offers a bold twist that pairs perfectly with a chilly day.

Loaded Lite Potato Soup – Inspired by Handle The Heat, this version is creamy, comforting, and guilt-free. I’ve created my own spin on it, but the original is a close match.

Chicken Soup With Meatballs – Based on a recipe from Great Chicago Italian Recipes, this one reminds me of a cherished family tradition.

The Tool Every Soup Maker Needs

For years, I hesitated to purchase a handheld immersion blender, dismissing it as an unnecessary splurge. Let me tell you—it’s a game-changer! If you regularly make soups or sauces that require a smooth consistency, you need one of these in your life. Gone are the days of transferring hot liquids to a blender (and risking spills!). This nifty gadget lets you blend everything directly in the pot. Since getting mine, I can’t imagine cooking without it. Whether it’s butternut squash soup, creamy tomato bisque, or even a quick marinara sauce, this tool saves time and effort. Trust me, fellow soup enthusiasts—you won’t regret it!

A Thoughtful Gift: Soup in a Jar

This week was extra special as I celebrated the birthdays of dear friends, including Pam from Simple Details and Kris from Driven By Decor. Did you see their fabulous giveaways? In honor of a local bestie’s birthday, I prepared a cup of homemade soup for her to take to work and enjoy during her lunch break. There’s something so heartwarming about gifting a jar of soup—it’s like delivering a hug in edible form.

Speaking of jars, I’ve started saving glass containers from the recycling bin for occasions like these. Jam jars, mason jars, or even salad dressing containers are the perfect size for a single lunch portion. Whether it’s soup, homemade red sauce, or homemade sugar scrub, these upcycled jars make for a thoughtful and eco-friendly gift. Bonus points if you tie a ribbon around the jar for an extra touch of charm!

Of course, no gift is complete without a little something sweet to go alongside it. Recently, I’ve become obsessed with Trader Joe’s frosted gingerbread cookies. These spiced, chewy delights have become my go-to treat, and honestly, I’m struggling to pace myself—they’re that good.

Simple Acts of Kindness

On my Random Acts of Kindness list this week, sharing soup in repurposed jars has been one of my favorite ways to spread joy. It’s such an easy gesture, but it can make someone’s day a little brighter. The beauty of soup lies in its ability to bring comfort and warmth, making it an ideal way to show love to friends, family, and neighbors.

As the weekend approaches, I’m gearing up for some much-needed relaxation. Today, as part of the 12 Days of Christmas Tour of Homes, Stacey from Steward of Design is sharing her beautifully decorated holiday home. I can’t wait to explore her festive decor and get inspired for the season.

There’s something about this time of year that makes me want to embrace all things cozy—soft blankets, twinkling lights, and of course, a hot bowl of soup. Whether you’re entertaining guests, celebrating with loved ones, or simply curling up with a good book, soup makes everything feel a little more special.

Thank you for stopping by and sharing a moment with me. I hope this inspires you to make a big batch of your favorite soup this week—or perhaps try one of my go-to recipes. Whether you’re indulging in a rich butternut squash soup or savoring the simplicity of tomato-vegetable goodness, I wish you a cozy, relaxing, and fun weekend filled with warmth and love.

Remember: soup’s on, and it’s always a good idea to share the joy with those around you!
