Hello friends! Hope you’ve had a great week! It’s been quiet over here since my whole house got hit with a winter bug that wiped us all out. I have been dying to share a great little Ikea hack with you, so watch for that next week!
Since this is a day for the history books, I thought a study/library/home office would be the perfect place to design for this week’s Paint Color Crush. Affliliate links included in this post for your convenience.
Today’s color:
We don’t have an office in this house, but I would do this with it if we did.
Navy + brown leather + brass.
Washington DC Map | Chicago Map | Leather Chairs (in Saddle) | Tripod Floor Lamp | Rug | Tray Table | City Glasses | Brass Drum Side Table
While last week’s rich and moody color was used as an accent to a lot of white in the rest of the room, imagine this deep navy blue encasing an entire room, including bookcases and trim. Painting the trim the same color as the walls was something we saw a lot of last year and I’m predicting that seamless look will continue for a long time to come. White trim and bookcases would be a beautiful contrast to this color too if you don’t want to make that kind of color commitment.
SAVE on the brass tripod lamp (currently on sale for $64) and the gorgeous wool rug (still an investment, but good quality wool rugs last for years).
SPLURGE on the leather chairs – so amazingly comfortable! – I sat in one at the C&B store recently and it’s heavenly. The leather gives the room a bit of masculine & cozy, and the boxy arms, a modern feel.
HONORABLE MENTIONS include the tray table which would be perfect in a small space for a little bar/beverage spot….
….and these city street map glasses!!!!!! I’m obsessed with these and ordered a couple of them for a certain someone I know who loves a Crown Royal on the rocks from time to time. It would be fun to collect all your favorite cities.
The maps are a fun find by Etsy seller Flying Junction, inspired by this bar cart scenario I have always adored. If you’re a fellow map-lover, visit my Map Pinterest board for ideas on using them in decor.
If you are intrigued by Newburyport Blue, see it in lots of different spaces on the Paint Color Crush board here!
Wishing you a happy and HEALTHY weekend ahead!
